Let States Set Drinking Age?

A questioner asks if the candidates would remove the requirement that a state have a legal drinking age of 21 to get federal highway funds . . .

Biden says no because of the human cost. He says lowering drinking age would be counterproductive. Dodd says no, then pivots to the smoking issue. He says a national ban on smoking would help substantially lower healthcare costs.

Mike Gravel says anyone that should be able to fight and die for this country, should be able to drink. Kucinich says people should be able to vote at 16 and drink at 18.
