Harpool Calls For Special Session

Greene County's Democratic State Senate candidate is calling for a special legislative session this fall to reinstate a Medicaid program for the working disabled.

Doug Harpool calls the elimination of MAWD (Medical Assistance for the Working Disabled) a mistake, and lambastes Republican Senator Norma Champion for refusing to take a position on the issue.

"It's pitiful that the Senator can't speak - or think - until she receives her orders from her party's leaders," Harpool said in the release.

Champion has said she is not sure whether a special session is necessary.

Harpool said some lawmakers are circulating a petition to call a special session in September without the approval of the Governor. It is unclear how many lawmakers have signed the petition or have even been asked to sign it. Harpool says if he was Senator, he would sign it, because the nearly 18,000 disabled Missourians cannot "wait until next year for this error to be corrected."

bobicus,

It's hard to take you seriously with so many errors in your post:

"...had no merrit in reality."

"Is challenging candidate doing the same true hear?"

"...not be a rubber stampe for a party..."

"So far the only side which is recieving hard questions..."

A quick look through this blog's archives locates criticism of Democrats:

bobicus,

It remains extremely difficult to take you seriously with so many errors in your writing. This may well be the sign of a very weak mind. I don't know that you are weak-minded, but proper writing is obviously unimportant to you, and that alone leads many to think you may be ignorant, uneducated and a Republican drone.

You continue to argue that this blog is biased toward liberals/Democrats. I've cited many entries critical of liberals/Democrats. You dismiss them and claim the blog is only serving as an infomercial for Democrats, but fail to provide any evidence to support your contention, other than your opinion.

". . .when a media outlet decides to take sides in a race or issue it is unethical and wrong. . ." Why? What is unethical or wrong with KY3's political reporters to provide their insight on an opinion-based web site? Isn't that similar to a newspaper providing opinions on its opinion pages?

Do you believe FOX news is biased? The Washington Times? The Wall Street Journal? The New York Times? CNN? Do you believe KY3's newscasts are biased, or is it just this blog?

"... stringing out all the dirty laundry for the Republicans while not even remotely talking about internal issues with Democrats might have."

The key phrase here is "might have." In otherwords, the Democrats might NOT have internal issues and that's why they don't appear on this blog. Do YOU have any examples?

Despite that, I find this blog HAS reported on some "internal issues" for the Democrats:

P-D Poll Makes McCaskill Nervous

James Owen, This Is Your Life!

Hagan Has Pics With Pujols!

Searching for Donkeys in The Ozarks

Could Not Running Hard Against Roy Hurt Claire?

No Love For Hil In Mizzou?

It's also worth noting that this region is a Republican stronghold and that may simply mean more Republican "internal issues." Consider also the number of Republican candidates in the primaries versus the number of Democrats. It's hard to report on problems within a party when it either has no candidate, or has only one in the primary.

Finally, I'd like to encourage you and others to stop hiding behind an anonymous blogger account. Despite claims that anonymous comments are not allowed, opening a blogger account without allowing access to the profile, or a blog, is essentially remaining anonymous.
