Sarah Palin told Oprah Winfrey that she could understand why a woman would contemplate an abortion in certain circumstances.
Palin, who opposes abortion, writes candidly in her new book "Going Rogue" about those thoughts, and Winfrey brought them up in their interview, which aired Monday.
"It was easy to understand why a woman would feel that it's easier to just do away with some less than ideal circumstances, to do away with the problem," Palin said, while reiterating her opposition to abortion.
Palin said she did not so much consider an abortion herself, but rather could understand why a woman would "go down that road."
