Vets Group Plans to Meet with Missouri Delegation

Vets for Freedom, a veterans group supportive of the war in Iraq will be meeting with the Missouri Congressional delegation in Washington this week.

Tomorrow, representatives from Missouri will meet with Sens. Claire McCaskill and Kit Bond as well as Rep. Roy Blunt. Just last week, the group took aim at Sen. McCaskill, asking her to condemn a political ad sponsored by anti-war group MoveOn.org.

“I am looking forward to our day on the Hill. This gives the service members that have been on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan the opportunity to share their views on the progress and changes that have happened before their own eyes,” said Peter McCann, an Iraq veteran from Lee’s Summit.

“We are optimistic that we can use our presence in D.C. to reinforce the news that General Petraeus brought to the country during his testimony to Congress. Namely, that the Surge is working, and that the U.S. military must be allowed to complete the mission and return home victorious,” stated Missouri Chairman Brandan Mueller “It is an opportunity for us to encourage our elected officials to put politics aside and to recognize the importance of winning in Iraq.”
