Police Chief Calls New State Alert System "Vague"

Springfield Police Chief Lynn Rowe says a new alert system designed to notify more people about missing persons is well-intended, but convoluted and vague.

Watch my KY3 News @ 10 report HERE.

It's called the Endangered Person Advisory Program.

Governor Matt Blunt's office was hailing the new program just a week ago. But our police chief says the state hasn't sent any instructions with the new alert plan.

A KY3 crew attempted to ask the Governor about Chief Rowe's concerns at an unrelated event in Springfield today, but a traveling press aide told our photographer the Governor had no time for questions.
