Rep. Blunt Regrets NCLB Vote; Calls for Waivers

Rep. Roy Blunt met with area school leaders today to hear their complaints about the No Child Left Behind legislation that is due up for renewal this year.

Some school superintendents believe major changes need to be made to the standards set in one of the President's signature programs.

Blunt told reporters he regrets his vote for the No Child Left Behind bill, and is proposing the federal government allow schools to apply for waivers, or "opting-out" of the program.
