Koster To Make First Appearance As Dem in Springfield

Newly-minted Democratic State Senator Chris Koster (D-Harrisonville) will introduce himself to Springfield Democrats for the first time on Labor Day.

What better day for Dems to canoodle?

Koster will speak at Springfield's Labor Day picnic at 12:30 at Fassnight Park in Springfield.

Koster is expected to run for Attorney General. Rep. Jeff Harris and Rep. Margaret Donnelly have already officially announced candidacies.

No word yet publicly on which Attorney General candidate local Dem honchos Rep. Sara Lampe and Rep. Charlie Norr will back.

But I'm getting some hints it won't be Koster.

Imagine you're a Democrat in Southwest Missouri. You work hard, play by the rules, and try to keep up with your state government. You read the paper & watch the news not EVERY day, but as often as your busy life allows. You know a little bit about the voting records and public statments of both Jeff Harris and Chris Koster. Heck, maybe you've even seen Harris speak - seems like he's been to Springfield a few times over the past couple of years. You know where he stands on your issues.

It's Labor Day weekend. You could:

a) Go to Branson
b) Go to Table Rock Lake
c) Go to Stockton Lake
d) Give your dogs a bath
e) Clean your gutters
f) Listen to (former?) Republican Chris Koster try to explain why he disagrees with you, Jeff Harris, and your fellow Southwest Missouri Democrats on Medicaid, MOHELA, CAFOs, VoterID, & K-12 School Funding and why he has spent so much time raising money for the ultra-right-wing Republicans he claims to have disagreed with on policy over the past few years.

Tough call, isn't it?
