In Iowa, Romney Hears Huckabee's Footsteps; Dems Remain Tight

Mike Huckabee is closing in on Mitt Romney in the first-in-the-nation caucus state of Iowa, according to a new CBS-New York Times poll out tonight.

The poll confirms recent surveys that have shown Huckabee picking up steam and challenging Mitt Romney's long-held position as the front-runner in the state. The survey puts Huckabee in second place in Iowa, within striking distance of Romney with voting in the caucuses some seven weeks away.

IOWA G.O.P.
Mitt Romney 27%
Mike Huckabee 21%
Rudy Giuliani 15%

Meanwhile, the Democratic remains tight, but Hillary Clinton is maintaining her front-runner status in the Hawkeye State.

IOWA DEMS
Hillary Clinton 25%
John Edwards 23%
Barack Obama 22%

So...what if Huckabee wins Iowa, Romney wins New Hampshire, Thompson wins South Carolina, and THEN Rudy wins Florida??

That would be fun.
