Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has surged passed his G.O.P. rivals in the all-important state of New Hampshire, according to the latest SurveyUSA poll there.
N.H. REPUBLICANS
Mitt Romney 32%
Rudy Giuliani 23%
John McCain 22%
Fred Thompson 11%
That's a big change from January, when Romney ran third there in the same poll.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton leads the pack with 40% of primary voters.
N.H. DEMOCRATS
Hillary Clinton 40%
Barack Obama 24%
John Edwards 22%
Those are big numbers for the top 3 in both parties. Is there really room for a lower-tier candidate to break through? Even a Fred Thompson?
Time is a tickin'.
