Team Obama to Organize in Springfield Parade

Barack Obama's presidential campaign will have a presence in Springfield's 4th of July Midtown Parade Friday.

Obama's Missouri director Buffy Wicks blasted out an e-mail to supporters today urging them to attend the parade that begins at 9 a.m. on 1600 N. Summit Street. Wicks urges supporters to first meet at Greene County Democratic Headquarters at the intersection at Fremont and Sunshine.

The Obama campaign is also trying to get local supporters to attend the 4th of July fireworks ceremony in Thayer, Mo. That event begins at 4 p.m.

No word yet if John McCain's campaign will have a similiar presence at Independence Day events.

BTW: Obama leads McCain by 5 . . . in MONTANA?
