CITING INTERNALS, THE HULSHOF CAMPAIGN DOWNPLAYS PUBLIC POLLS
"Edging someone out, well within the margin of error, is hardly a definitive statement of anything," says Hulshof spokesperson Scott Baker.
YESTERDAY: RASMUSSEN AND PUBLIC POLICY POLLS SHOWED STEELMAN POLLING BETTER AGAINST NIXON THAN HULSHOF
"You’ll notice that previous Rasmussen polls were more favorable to Kenny than Sarah, but we didn’t tout them for two reasons 1) The accuracy of these kind of polls are questionable and 2) the reason stated above," adds Baker. "We’ve been consistent on Rasmussen – not worth touting, even when it’s been good for us."
***ON PUBLIC POLICY POLL:***
BAKER SAYS THEY ARE A DEMOCRATIC FIRM . . . "They work for Dems, unions, and environmental groups. It’s all on their site. Their spokesman used to work for the Sierra Club," says Baker.
"And (to say that) Sarah Steelman did “well” in their poll just proves that the Dems are willing to do whatever they can to get Sarah Steelman in the general election. It may also provide a strong indication as to who the true conservative is."

***ON THEIR OWN INTERNALS***
"Our internals show us up in Springfield, by the way. Up by 10 points statewide….since we’re talking about polls," adds Baker.
***STEELMAN CAMP RESPONDS***
"Everyone knows this race is tight, that it will go down to the wire and that Sarah Steelman is clearly the toughest opponent for Jay Nixon in November," responds Steelman spokesperson Spence Jackson
