Republican House Minority Whip Roy Blunt is urging Congress not to cut financial aid to Pakistan as a result of the state of emergency there.
As The Hill reports, many Republicans are siding with Pakistan's President this week.
Blunt said he was confident that the White House and Musharraf are in continuous discussions about the emergency situation in Pakistan.
UPDATE . . . A spokesperson with Roy Blunt's office called to take issue with the original headline of this post, "Blunt Backs Musharraf". That spokesperson says that was not accurate and says that Blunt only said he does not what aid cut off to the country.
