"NO": Voters Shoot Down Taxes Around Ozarks

By a 3-to-1 margin, voters in 14 school districts in the Ozarks overwhelmingly turned down a proposed property tax levy increase for Ozarks Technical Community College.

You can watch my KY3 News @ 10 report HERE.

Other Ozarks counties asking for new taxes were also handed defeats. Both Wright and Polk Counties wanted money for judicial facility upgrades. Polk County's new jail was defeated by a 3-to-1 margin. Wright County's expansion went down by nearly 4-to-1.

Voters in Taney County defeated a new sales tax for economic development 60%-40%.

Voters in Strafford (51%-49%) narrowly defeated a tax increase to covert the fire department from volunteer to full-time. Just a 28 vote difference here. You can watch KY3's Marie Saavedra's report HERE.

A Sparta Fire Tax was also narrowly defeated.

One of the few issues to pass was the Ash Grove Fire Tax. Rogersville voters approved renewal of existing tax for transportation. Planning and Zoning in Webster County went down to defeat once again, 59% to 41%
