Both Sens. Kit Bond and Claire McCaskill recieve approval ratings of 54% in the latest monthly SurveyUSA tracking poll.
Bond has a 26-point edge among men; McCaskill scores an 18-point advantage with women.
The Hispanic number stands out, as perhaps, odd? Bond wins Hispanics with 48% of the vote, but only 29% give McCaskill the nod. Could this have anything to do with her tough line on illegal immigration. Of couse, McCaskill does better with blacks than Bond.
Bond does better with Democrats than McCaskill does with Republicans, but she holds a 10-point edge with independents.
In the Ozarks, Bond soars with a 58% approval rating. But he does even better in central Missouri with a sparkling 68% mark. 50% approve of him in Kansas City -- and that's his lowest mark.
McCaskill gets her lowest mark in the Ozarks, but still holds her own with a 44% approval. She is strongest in St. Louis with 59%.
