A Double Dose Of Blunt

Two Blunts, One Day.

On Monday, Governor Matt Blunt will sign his Medicaid reform legislation at the Springfield Jiffy Lube on East Battlefield at 9:15 a.m.

Then, later at 3:30 p.m., Congressman Roy Blunt will visit the new HomeBuilders Association Headquarters on West Republic Road.

What does medicaid reform have to do with a jiffy lube? Seems to me a hospital would be a more appropriate place to have the signing.
on second thought......anyone who has ever been to a jiffy lube will appreciate this: "Uh, busplunge, we want to tell you that your airfilter and pvc valve should be replaced, look how dirty the airfilter is, it could cause your engine to blow up." It's called upselling.
now to medicaid: "Uh busplunge, we want to tell you that your triclicerates are high and your thryoid level is low. It could cause your immune system to backfire."

OK, I may regret asking this, but here it goes: what does Jiffy Lube have to do with the Medicaid reform bill? Was he getting his car serviced and decided to kill two birds with one stone?

Friends,

Blunt will make the analogy that the new Medicaid system will be much like Jiffy Lube - a central and competent place where you can go, where they have the history of your car problems, and then they can use that information to improve your car and prevent future problems. Blunt will make the case Missouri HealthNet will allow patients to go to one place where they can get all their care, and have people that know and understand the history of their health problems, and in turn, prevent future ones.

Missouri HealthNet actually seems fairly OK. Many of the Democratic Senators did vote for it, including my North St Louis County Senator Democrat!

I do not know enough about it to state my opinion yet, I will read over it though!

Excellent Blog Ky3! I like it!
