More MoveOn Pressure For Claire

"We're Counting On You"
MoveOn.org will hold a demonstration outside of Sen. Claire McCaskill's Springfield office Wednesday to pressure her to support a public option in healthcare legislation.
The demonstration will be held at 2 p..m. Wednesday outside of Sen. McCaskill's office at 324 West Park Central Square. The rally is being called "We're Counting On You."
"This is a moment when we need to take our advocacy directly to our senators in a visible and public way. It will be a crucial moment for these senators to see that we're really counting on them to push for a bill that includes a public option. It's not enough for them to show up and vote. We need them to fight as hard as they can," wrote Missouri Progressive Vote Coalition organizer Kay Mills to supporters.
On Tuesday: The Senate Finance Committee passed a long-awaited $829 billion health care bill by a 14-9 vote. The bill DOES NOT contain a public option, but rather establishes nonprofit healthcare cooperatives and health insurance exchanges.

PLUS: An ad by America's Health Insurance Plans targeting the legislation is running in some Missouri media markets. HUFFPOST writes: "The targets of the current ad purchase seem relatively clear . . . Spending money in Missouri is something of a mystery, as progressives insist that Sen. Claire McCaskill, (D-MO) will be a reliable vote."
