Have we really gotten to the point where we can't "like" a politician we interview anymore . . . whether it's Kenny Hulshof or Sara Lampe? Can't we pay a compliment for candor -- and still vigorously question that person on the issues and ideas like we're supposed to? Kind of sad if we can't.

Q: Why is Dave so fond of a Democratic hack like Sara Lampe?
A: Beats me...
Matt,
Have we really gotten to the point where we can't "like" a politician we interview anymore . . . whether it's Kenny Hulshof or Sara Lampe? Can't we pay a compliment for candor -- and still vigorously question that person on the issues and ideas like we're supposed to? Kind of sad if we can't.
Can a judge like a counsel who appears in his/her courtroom? Maybe, but if it's referred to in open court, doesn't it look odd?
My comment was more directed at Lampe than you.
Dave writes: "Can't we pay a compliment..."
I have had the same experience.
