Rasmussen: McCain By 5

John McCain 47%
Barack Obama 42%

Notes:
  • Last month it was essentially tied
  • When leaners are included, it's McCain 50%, Obama 45%
  • McCain is viewed favorably by 58%, while Obama is viewed favorably by 50%
  • Just 80% of Democrats are backing Obama
  • 50% say Obama is too inexperienced to be President
  • 46% of Missouri voters say the economy is their top issue
  • 53% say it's more important to bring the troops home than to win in Iraq
  • 67% say offshore drilling should be allowed

Good news for McCain, although it's far from over. Right now I have Obama with 238 EVs (270 needed) and McCain with 216. Missouri is a toss up, and if that were moved into the McCain column it'd be 238-227 with states like Ohio, Michigan, and Colorado deciding the presidency.
