Hulshof To Stop In Springfield Monday

U.S. Representative Kenny Hulshof will begin introducing himself to Springfield as a candidate for Governor at a campaign kick-off Monday.

His event is set for 3:30 p.m. at the University Plaza Hotel in the Lake of the Ozarks Room.

Hulshof will start the day in Columbia before flying to Joplin and Springfield, where he will meet with supporters.

Hulshof is battling Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder and State Treasurer Sarah Steelman for the Republican nomination. Today, Kinder's campaign released a list of supporters around the state. Those supporters from Springfield include Loren Cook II, William Darr, J. Neal Ethridge, John Mahaffey and Terry Meek.

Lawrence County G.O.P. Chair Sherri George tells the KY3 Political Notebook choosing a candidate for Governor has been much easier than choosing a candidate for President. "Kenny Hulshof. I'm with him all the way," George said. "Sarah got checked off real early. I've just never really been with her. I can't see her as Governor," George said.

Kenny Hulshof having to introduce himself to Springfield says it all. That's why I'm with Peter Kinder. He is already on a first name basis with Springfield. He is the most conservative, ethical, and capable candidate in this race.
