Things That Make You Go Hmmm . . .

The Missouri Democratic Party sent out a YouTube video of Governor Matt Blunt today, highlighting comments he made during the 2004 campaign on healthcare.

The clip is from a Kansas City TV story about Blunt's positions on healthcare.

In this 2004 interview, Gov. Blunt said he was "opposed to changing eligibility requirements for the program."

He seems to be referring to the children's health insurance program.

"Well guess what happened just one year later, after he was elected governor? Matt Blunt slashed or eliminated the health insurance of more than 400,000 Missouri citizens, including more than 55,000 Missouri children," blasts the Democratic release.

Did Blunt break his word?

You(Tube) be the judge.

Meanwhile, the Republican Party sent off a wacky e-mail trying to link Attorney General Jay Nixon to the abortion positions of the Democratic candidates for President.

When I asked Nixon which candidate he favored last month, he declined to name one, saying, "I like them all."

The state G.O.P. tried to seize on those comments, basically equating that to an endorsement of the presidential candidates' positions on partial birth abortion. Huh?

So if you say you like a candidate, you automatically embrace all their ideas!

Seriously Clark, what goes on in these party press shops?

Seems pretty lame to me.

I wonder what the Missouri G.O.P. and Gov. Blunt think of Mitt Romney's stands on abortion and gay marriage some years back.

Maybe the Dems can say Blunt secretly favors abortion on demand, because he now digs Romney?!

Silly stuff.
