December Revenues Still Down, But Decline Not As Sharp

< .02 %
State revenues continue to come in lower than last year, but the decline has become less pronounced.
Commissioner of Administration Larry Schepker announced today that 2009 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections declined 0.2 percent compared to 2008. All general revenue collections for December were up 17 percent from last year, but Schepker noted that is due to two extra working days and the late Thanksgiving holiday.
Income taxes were up 5% for the year, sales taxes were down 3.7% and corporate taxes were down almost 7 %.
