According to the Associated Press and CNN, Republican candidate Fred Thompson is dropping out of the presidential race. Bloggers of course, like Marc Ambinder, had the news first. Per Ambinder: Thompson does not plan to endorse any rivals for now, even though one of his best friends is Sen. John McCain.
