Missouri Farm Bureau President Charles Kruse has sent a letter to members of the state’s congressional delegation urging them to override President Bush’s veto of WRDA, the Water Resources Development Act, according to an AG News outlet.
According to Brownfield AG News for America, in the letter, Kruse says navigation improvements on the Upper Mississippi River to enhance transportation of ag commodities and other water resource enhancement projects in the bill “are long overdue and should be authorized without delay.”
All Missouri lawmakers on Capital Hill voted for the final version of WRDA except for Senator Claire McCaskill and Congressman Roy Blunt. An override vote could take place this week.
