Barnitz for Lt. Gov.? -- And That's No Bull!

Jason Rosenbaum of the Columbia Daily Tribune is delivering all the scoops from Democrat Days in Hannibal this weekend.

One nugget he dug up relevant to our area . . . State Sen. Frank Barnitz is a possible candidate for lieutenant governor in 2008. Rosenbaum reports that one of Barnitz's colleagues thinks the Lake Spring Senator would be competitive.

From Rosenbaum's blog:

"(Sen. Wes) Shoemyer says state Sen. Frank Barnitz, D-Lake Spring, would be a “very viable candidate” in rural Missouri if he decided to run for lieutenant governor. And although the two are similar ideologically and have worked together in the past, he added he’s not going to endorse a particular candidate. “The Democratic primaries are kind of tough to get involved,” he said.
