But in a flip from the last Mason-Dixon poll, the war in Iraq has now leapfrogged healthcare as the state's top issue. 22% say Iraq is tops, 19% say its healthcare and 16% say moral and family issues are number one.
This poll was conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, Inc. of Washington, D.C. from October 17 through October 19, 2006. A total of 625 registered Missouri voters were interviewed statewide by telephone. All stated they were likely to vote in the November general election. The margin for error, according to standards customarily used by statisticians, is no more than plus or minus 4 percentage points. The poll interviewed 36% Democrats, 35% Republicans and 29% Independents. 14% of the respondents came from Southwest Missouri.
