With a lot at stake this fall and November 2008, no one wants to have even the scent of scandal or improriety on them. Consider the recent headlines:
Nixon to return donations [from Ameren Corp.]
Blunt kin pushes fuel plant; Brothers deny any tie between pro-ethanol policies and the venture
[Top Blunt aide James]Harris stepping down
Even a Mizzou Board of Curators wants to avoid problems. From the Associated Press Saturday:
A committee is recommending the governing body of the University of Missouri adopt a new ethics policy.
The three-member committee of the University of Missouri Board of Curators is pushing for a new conflict-of-interest plan that would keep members from voting in a way that could benefit them personally or financially.
And now this: The Missouri Ethics Commission web site now allows you to search lobbyist expense reports and see who's giving what to whom and when.

Lots of politicians talk about ethics, but I've only seen one guy who actually walks the walk. That's Doug Harpool, the former state rep now running for Missouri Senate. Why don't you ask him what he thinks about the ethical climate in Missouri politics?
