We're not sure what to make of this press release:
Wildwood, MO. - State Representative Jack Jackson (R-Wildwood) is the choice of members of The National Air Traffic Controllers Association in the upcoming elections for Missouri State Auditor. St. Louis NATCA representative Dave Hastings says union membersip has decided to endorse and support Colonel Jackson (USMC-Ret.) because of his understanding of public flying safety issues, his ability to perform at the highest level under extreme circumstances and his long time support of the aviation industry in Missouri and the nation.
How handy will those skills be? Here's the job description from the Missouri Constitution:
"...shall establish appropriate systems of accounting for all public officials of the state, post-audit the accounts of all state agencies and audit the treasury at least once annually. He shall make all other audits and investigations required by law, and shall make an annual report to the governor and general assembly. He shall establish appropriate systems of accounting for the political subdivisions of the state, supervise their budgeting systems, and audit their accounts as provided by law. No duty shall be imposed on him by law which is not related to the supervising and auditing of the receipt and expenditure of public funds."
Give the Jackson campaign credit for making the most of its recent run-in with a deer.

Yeah, I saw that Col. Jack was running for something else. That man's been running for one public office or another for years, we finally just elected him as a state representative so he'd quit beating on our doors. But I guess a retired flyboy has to have something to do to keep him out of his wife's hair.
As for the run-in with the deer... Bill Engval's version is much funnier.
