Polk County Asks For Tax To Build New Jail

The issue of overcrowding will soon face Polk County voters. In about a month, they'll decide whether to raise the sales tax to pay for a new judicial facility.

Polk County is one of several in the Ozarks that have seen this type of ballot proposal over the last few years. But opponents say a half-percent sales tax hike is no way to solve the problem.

Polk County Uses YouTube to Push Judicial Center

YouTube has certainly changed the political dynamic on the national landscape. Now local politicians are using it for their advantage. Polk County officials have produced a new YouTube video to build support for a tax issue.
