Roepe Tapped As MoGOP Political Director

Chris Roepe, former chief of staff to Senate president Pro Tem Charlie Shields, has become the Missouri Republican Party's political director.

Roepe will be in charge of organizing grassroots and serving as a liaison to county chairs, committees and coalitions.

"Chris brings an immense amount of real campaign experience, having managed and worked on competitive State Senate campaigns with large media and mail budgets and an emphasis on personal voter contact. He will play an important role in strengthening our legislative majorities and electing Republicans to the U.S. Senate and for state Auditor," said Lloyd Smith, MoGOP executive director.
In an interview with the Kansas City Star in 2007, Roepe said his biggest weakness was "never asking for help," and the hardest part of his job was "trying to make everyone happy." He said he would not ever run for public office.
