Hulshof Hauls in $1.5 Million, Nixon Blasts Fundraiser

KENNY HULSHOF WILL RAISE ABOUT $1.5 MILLION FROM FRIDAY'S FUNDRAISER WITH PRESIDENT BUSH. THE CAMPAIGN SAYS ABOUT 600 PEOPLE ARE ATTENDING.
JAY NIXON'S STATEMENT ON HULSHOF'S ST. LOUIS FUNDRAISER WITH THE PRESIDENT TONIGHT:

"We have an election around the corner and everyone is campaigning aggressively, but by embracing President Bush in the midst of this economic meltdown, Congressman Hulshof is reminding the people of Missouri why it’s so important that we take our state in a new direction. After voting lockstep with President Bush to create this economic crisis, Congressman Hulshof is not the change we need here in Missouri. We simply can’t afford it," said Democratic candidate for Governor Jay Nixon.
BUT . . . Hulshof opposed the Bailout Plan originally proposed by the Bush Administration and passed by Congress today.
THE HULSHOF CAMPAIGN RESPONDS:
"Jay Nixon is just trying to divert people’s attention away from the fact that he has no plan to improve Missouri’s job climate. None. In fact, his record of raising taxes and opposing pro-jobs reforms makes Jay Nixon the last person Missouri’s economy needs right now."
