AIM for Hulshof

STATE'S LARGEST BUSINESS TRADE GROUP BACKS HULSHOF

The Associated Industries of Missouri Board of Directors announced its endorsement of Congressman Kenny Hulshof for Governor Tuesday.
"As a small businessman himself, Congressman Hulshof understands what it takes to make business – and our economy – grow," said Gary Marble, president of Associated Industries, in a statement.
"Trained workers, affordable healthcare for employees, protection from frivolous lawsuits and a strong transportation infrastructure, these are the things that will allow Missouri to compete on the world stage and these are the things that Kenny Hulshof plans to work on when he becomes Governor," he added.
Steve Hoven, chairman of the Board of Directors said Hulshof's economic priorities of additional lawsuit reform and workers compensation reform mirror the group's own priorities.

"While running for his Party’s nomination, Hulshof has not backed away from difficult issues such as reforming the Second Injury Fund and transportation funding," reads the release.
"These are tough issues that would be easy to dodge with double-talk," said Marble.
It should be noted that Hulshof has not outlined a specific plan to deal with pending transporation funding issues. Neither his opponents, State Treasurer Sarah Steelman nor Attorney General Jay Nixon have gotten specific on that issue either.
