E-mail Exhaustion

Gov. Matt Blunt’s office announced its now seeking Attorney General Jay Nixon’s office’s e-mail retention policy prior to January 1, 2008. The Blunt administration says that so far Nixon's office has "failed to produce any records of their own specifically outlining Nixon’s e-mail retention policy prior to this year.

“To date, you have not produced any documents reflecting any such e-mail retention policy in effect prior to January 1, 2008,” wrote Gov. Blunt’s Chief of Staff Trish Vincent. “Your failure to produce any record of an e-mail retention policy prior to this year suggests that your office had no e-mail retention prior to January 1, 2008.”

Nixon has repeatedly said his office is complying with Blunt's Sunshine request, but that the full request will take time.
