Idol Contestant Sings For Psychologists

Branson-area American Idol contestant Jason Yaeger will be singing for psychologists at the Capitol Tuesday.

Jason Yaegar will be singing to rally support for a bill that would allow psychologists to write prescriptions for certain medications. He'll be singing throughout the day in support of Senate Bill 917 and House Bill 1739.

Supporters of the bill say legislation is needed to better serve mental health patients, who sometimes wait up to nine months to see a psychiatrist for medication. Psychiatrists argue psychologists don't have the proper training or education to prescribe such powerful medications.

You can catch Yaegar singing on the south lawn of the Capitol from Noon to 1 p.m.
