The state House has backed a measure that would allow Missouri's more than 500 school district to require school uniforms.
Rep. Maynard Wallace of Thornfield said baggy clothes could be allowed to conceal weapons and wants to give districts the option.

The bill also gives schools more leeway to discipline students and block lawsuits against teachers if they follow district policies.
If approved and signed by the Governor, there's no plan for the state to provide funding to pay for school uniforms.
