Rep. Wood Gets A Primary Challenger

Branson West Republican Jeff Justus announced plans to challenge Rep. Dennis Wood for his #62nd district legislative seat Wednesday.

In a press release, Justus said he would officially announce his campaign Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the L & J Plumbing Supply store in Stone County.

Justus plans to outline his vision for Stone and Taney Counties and then embark on a 3-day, 180-mile bike ride to Jefferson City. Justus said his ride will emphasize his willingness to "work hard and make voices from his district heard in the state legislature."

Justus said emphasis would be on receiving "our fair share of tourism funding, road and bridges and our school systems." "Promotion of physical fitness and healthier lifestyles rounds out the agenda," the release reads.

Justus has served as a member and past president of the Branson-Hollister Rotary Club, the Branson Chamber of Commerce Board and he currently serves as Chairman of the Table Rock Area Chamber Board.

The 62nd legislative district includes Branson, Hollister, Branson West and Kimberling City.
