The Gay Issue

Edwards gives a pretty good answer on a question of whether he'd be comfortable if a teacher read a story about gays to 2nd graders.

He says he wants his children exposed to different people and what they go through. He notes his daughter and wife support gay marriage while he opposes it. Edwards comes through well here because he looks very honest and genuine.

He struggles with the idea of gay marriage and is open about that, but still seems open-minded about the future of the issue.

Obama says his young children, 6 and 9 years old, are already aware of same sex couples.

Clinton says whether kids should be read a book about a gay couple is strictly "a parental decision."
