Edwards Finds His Stride

Edwards is talking about raising taxes on Social Security to makes it solvent. While Bill Richardson says the country "can grow" out of the problem and Hillary Clinton cites "bipartisan commissions," Edwards says people deserve the truth.

"They have heard so much politician doubletalk on this issue," Edwards says, referring to the public. Edwards says he would make the hard choice on lifting the cap. He says he would make a protective zone between the middle class, between $97-thousand to $200-thousand. But he says he does believe people who make $50-$75-$100 million dollars a year should be paying Social Security taxes.

Edwards is most at ease when talking economics and populism. The tax message may not be popular in a general, but he seems genuine.

So far, I think Edwards is having a pretty good debate. He's making his points, getting his jabs in and offering much more in specifics than Hillary or Obama.
