Bringing Them Back

54-thousand Missourians will get health insurance by February if a new plan by Governor Matt Blunt stays intact.

Gov. Blunt was in Springfield touting his new health insurance plan. You can watch our KY3 News @ Noon report HERE.

The overall plan plans to cover 200,000 Missourians over the next 15 months.

The focus is on working parents and caregivers with children. Many of the disabled who were cut from the Medicaid rolls in 2005 will remain without coverage.

Democrats say this is an election year ploy, while some Republicans are grumbling about the hefty price tag.

Lise Bernstein, with the Missouri Budget Project, tells the KY3 Political Notebook "to us, it sounds like Medicaid, under a different name."
