Montee's Ebenezer Audit

A 10-year contract for the Fire Chief full of automatic pay raises.

Credit card charges for a home theatre system and fireworks.
Cash donations spent with no receipts.

Those are some of the findings in a state audit of the Ebenezer Fire Protection District.
Watch my KY3 News @ 10 report HERE.

State Auditor Susan Montee identified more than $100,000 of questionable charges. She says thousands of dollars have been misused and misappropriated. The former fire chief faces charges of stealing. His mother says the Fire Protection Board should share the blame.
Either way, residents are steamed.
"They stole from us. They stole from the people," says Mary Irvine. "It's not fair what they did, what all of them did."
