I ventured to Jefferson City today to cover the remaining time in the 2007 legislative session.
It's a rush to the finish.
In the News @ 5, I reported on new efforts to resurrect funding for the Springfield crime lab.
In the News @ 6, I reported on the battle to pass a Medicaid reform bill. (Unfortunately that video hasn't been posted yet.)
Also, a bill that would allow the use of deadly force in some circumstances is on its way to Gov. Matt Blunt’s desk. The measure would prohibit criminal charges and civil lawsuits against people who use deadly force against someone who illegally enters their home, car or other dwelling. It's commonly known as the Castle Doctrine.
More follow-up on my Jeff City trip to come . . .
The session ends Friday at 6 p.m.
