Meet the Candidates/Election Basics

The National Alliance on Mental Illness has 21 candidates showing up at a breakfast this Thursday July 27 at 8:00 am at the NAMI office at 1701 S. Campbell in Springfield.

The League of Women Voters is providing the usual resources for voters. Its Voters Guide includes bios and pictures of many candidates.

They also recently sat down with Greene County Clerk Richard Struckhoff, himself a candidate, to talk about the upcoming election.

I think you are over interpretng the comments. Anyway from what I recall Harpool got a long very well with the Republicans in the legislature. He voted rather conservatively, crossed party lines frequesntly and was reelected repeatedly in a district that included much of the Republican territory that Denison now represents. Harpool fought with the Democrats when he Chaired the Ethics committee and recommended sanctions against a democratic member. Seems to me we need to elect more people to office who are willing to work with the other party instead of declaring war on succesful candidates from the other party before the election is even held.

Besides Champion hosted a fundraiser for Denison and she had a yard sign up for him so why would Denison want to slight her?
