Obama Birther Infomercial Airs in Springfield

Almost nine months into his presidency, there are still groups questioning whether Barack Obama is a natural born citizen of the United States.

And now the so-called "birther" movement has taken to the airwaves right here in the Ozarks.

INTERVIEWING THE BOSS

WHY KY3 INC. OK'D IT TO AIR ON SISTER STATION KSPR

"Obviously, the opinions in this particular program may be a minority of our viewers, but certainly I think this group has the right to express themselves. I don't think it's libelous in any fashion," explained Ky3 Inc. General Manager Mike Scott.

EXCERPTS OF MY PHONE INTERVIEW WITH U.S. JUSTICE FOUNDATION LEADER GARY KREEP:

"I'm saying that his family was probably trying to cover up something -- not the fact that he was born in Africa," said USJF executive director Gary Kreep in an interview from California.

LivePrayer's website has a video comparing President Obama to Hitler.

HERE is FactCheck.org's findings that Obama is a U.S. citizen.

Let them spend money on these ridiculous accusations. Could you really not find anything more legitimate to cover? ... like say the construction of a new water tower somewhere in Southwest Missouri?

You asked Kreep why they placed the ads in Springfield… They obviously strategically placed this ad in places where it'd get the most fanfare. Unfortunately, it appears the studies showed that racism and ignorance -- which go hand in hand -- is abundant in our area.

I live here because I like the water.

E coli ... isn't that a cough drop? Some guy standing on a mountain in Switzerland or someplace hollering "E coli"?

Oh wakeup, Mikey.

It’s not so much about the question “Does Obama have a valid birth certificate?” that's racist -- it’s that it’s a gateway to saying every racist thing in the world about the man without apology.

It was the same thing with the Pledge of Allegiance flap, the oath on the Qu’ran flap, the Jeremiah Wright flap, the “he’s not really all black” line, the “he’s actually Indonesian” line, and pretty much every conspiracy theory that’s been wrapped up into this birther insanity.

On the other hand, I love how a bunch of people on the right are making tremendous fools of themselves -- making their party more and more marginalized in relation to minorities.

I also love that the pundits on the right aren’t calling out this b.s., but are rather asking why Obama just doesn’t finish off this issue once and for all.

There's no better example than this to illustrate the intelligent right’s inability to quash the morons within.

Hey Mikey, Barack Obama is having sex with a beautiful black woman in the same bedroom that your hero, Ronald Reagan, slept in.

Deal with it.

Why am I not surprised to find that David Catanese doesn't know the difference between a "Certificate of Live Birth" and a "Certification of Birth"?

Come on David! Do a little "investigative journalism".

Did either of Obama's parents sign his Hawaiian Birth Certificate? Was it a doctor, or Grandma Dunham that affirmed his birth?

If you knew that it was grandma who affirmed the birth, would you still be convinced that Obama was born in Hawaii?

If grandma affirmed the birth, there would be a certificate in the vault of the DOH, but that doesn't necessarily mean the birth took place in Hawaii. Does it?
