The conservative-leaning The Missouri Record is defending Gov. Jay Nixon's cuts to the tourism division and says his administration should have slashed even more."Gov. Nixon's problem here isn't that he cut too much. It's that he didn't cut enough. Why should my tax dollars go to pay for advertising to benefit wealthy entertainment venue owners in Springfield, Branson, or anywhere else in the state? Branson has a population of 6,050. Why should the other 5,904,545 Missourians subsidize their local economy?," writes Jay Barnes.
