TRACKING THE $TIMULU$
Gov. Jay Nixon will make what he's calling a major announcement Wednesday about expanding broadband Internet availability in rural Missouri.
Nixon will appear at Sho-Me Power, a rural electric cooperative in Marshfield, at 1:30 p.m.
The Governor's office says Nixon will detail a joint application that Sho-Me Power and the state will be submitting for stimulus funds for rural broadband Internet.
The initiative is expected to result in adding 2,500 miles of fiber-optic cables across Missouri as well as the construction of 200 new broadband towers.
Nixon is also expected to tour the Show-Me Power plant.
