The One-on-One . . . (& More)

4 QUESTIONS FOR BARACK OBAMA

Privileged as we were to receive the only one-on-one television interview with the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, the time went fast and furiously. They scheduled 3 minutes for us. Yep, 3. We eeked out a bit more. Now you can judge what both he and I did with it.

WHERE CAN HE WORK WITH THE G.O.P?

WHAT'S HIS POSITION ON MANDATING ETHANOL?

WHY RAISE TAXES ON THOSE MAKING $250,000?

IF IRAQ GOES BAD, WOULD HE SEND TROOPS BACK IN?

Dave,
Great job but you must not have gotten the memo (probably authored by Linda Douglass) that requires reporters to stick to such hard questions as: "what's your favorite ice cream flavor, are you a morning or night person, do you like puppy dogs, and did you know that John McCain beats his wife?"

What a sham is being perpetrated by the national media. In 2004 they tried fake documents. In 2008 they're trying a fake candidate.

He makes me wish John Kerry were running...

Im still waiting for the answer to the first question when the answer toed the DNC line and was in diameteric opposition to the very question you asked.

I noticed you failed to stop Obama mid thought like you did with McCain when you asked him a question about dealing with Iran diplomatically - and you retorted that things (diplomacy) weren't working.

To me, the two interviews were night and day in how the candidates were treated.

He (Obama) may be a rock star to you, but he is a candidate for President of the United States nonethless and should be treated as such.

And matt, its been published in several places that before you can get an interview with Obama you are pretty much vetted in how and what you are going to ask.

Was that the case in this situation? I dont know. What I do know is that when Obama has been asked questions he was not suspecting or ready for, his PR people have squeeled to the nth degree.

Finally, what really is mind blowing is that Senator Obama accused Republicans and McCain of being racist and Xenophobs here in Springfield and a couple other campaign stops.

Was that ever mentioned in any of the reports? Nope. ABC news caught it though.

I am not going to venture a guess why, but its pretty concerning to my self.
