Obama says America cannot sanction torture, but adds, "I'll do whatever it takes to keep America safe." He says he'll make the judgment at the time, but says torture diminishes "us and the world."
Joe Biden says he would not allow for a presidential exception even in this extreme situation. He says he'd never use torture because it doesn't work "ever."
Clinton says she agrees with what Biden and Obama have said, but they said slightly different things. Obama seems a bit more open to it. Hillary then goes back and says hypotheticals like this are dangerous to speculate about.
