Sen. Kit Bond said Missourians should possibly consider a ballot initiative to better fund state infrastructure, to prevent a bridge collapse similar to the one in Minnesota.
Bond made those comments during an interview with the KY3 Political Notebook in Greenfield, Mo. during a farm tour.
You can watch the 5-minute interview with Bond HERE.
Bond talked about why he probably can't get any more federal money for Missouri roads, but stressed that Missouri doesn't have the infrastructure it needs.
"The people of Missouri are going to have to decide whether they want good roads and bridges and they're going to have to do something about state policy," said Bond.
Bond also talked about the National Guard's equipment problem, and why the Guard needs a seat at the table at the Pentagon. He also blamed current troop problems to reductions during the 1990s.
Again, you can watch the entire interview HERE.
Don't miss the end when I ask Bond about who he likes for President. (Hint: He's quicker on his feet *literally* than I thought!)
