Sen. Trent Lott said if the U.S. Senate couldn't work out a deal on this, it should vote to dissolve and go home until 2008.
But Sen. Claire McCaskill and Sen. Kit Bond joined forces to help stop this deal.
Talk about tricky politics . . .
