Can a Republican-led House and a Republican-led Senate with a Republican Governor hammer out their differences over a Medicaid overhaul in the next 24 hours?
It's starting not to look good.
From the Associated Press:
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Talk of a special session on health care is increasing at the Capitol. The Legislature's regular session ends at 6 p.m. Friday and there is still is no agreement on legislation revamping the state's Medicaid program for poor people.
Gov. Matt Blunt says it is critical to pass the bill this year. House negotiators walked out of a meeting with senators on Thursday night. Lead House negotiator Rob Schaaf suggested it might be time to think about a special session.
