No live coverage of Kansas City debate

While the state is reacting to the Springfield debate, we're already getting ready for the Kansas City showdown.

KMBC (the ABC affiliate), KCUR (the NPR affiliate), KCPT (public television) and the Examiner are sponsoring the debate at the University Academy charter school.

However, none of the media outlets will be broadcasting the debate live. Instead, the debate will air Thursday night at 7:00pm on both KMBC and KCPT.

I'm told it was originally going to be carried live but plans changed. Instead, KMBC viewers will be treated to the results show for "Dancing with the Stars."

Watching "Dancing With the Stars" might be more thought-provoking than the McTalent debate. But not by much.
